    April 2, 2020

    Hello students,

This last month has certainly been an interesting one! I hope that all of you, your family and friends are staying safe during this unprecedented time in modern history.

As our lives seemed to have suddenly been put on pause, as a society we are attempting to find ways to keep ourselves moving forward. This said, we now make a new journey towards the completion of our current academic year. Keep note that this path has not yet been traveled and that we will certainly find obstacles as we march on. We will all need to remain positive, be more patient and of course, to persevere through the uncertainties that lie before us. Rest assured that you are not alone! We will travel this new path together, find ways to overcome obstacles and in the end, succeed!

As you may have heard through the media on March 31, 2020, the Ontario Minister of Education announced that teaching and learning will continue through the use of technology. According to the Minister, the high school student is required to complete 3 hours of work per course, per week. To comply with these directives, our course will look somewhat different moving forward.

We will attempt to complete course expectations as detailed in our course outline as best as possible. I have been informed by the school board that students will be able to access the Adobe software applications from home. To do this, students will need to follow these steps:

    1. Visit the Adobe Canada website https://www.adobe.com/ca/.
    2. From this point, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the download & install link from the Support section.
    3. From this page, Download your Creative Cloud apps This will bring you to a new window where you will need to enter your school board login credentials (username and password). Do not use the other login options (Google, Facebook or Apple).
    4. Select Company or School Account and re-enter your school board login credentials.
    5. This will take you to the apps install page. Find the app that you will need to complete your assignments and select the install button. This will install the app to your computer.

Once the app is installed on your computer, you will be able to proceed in completing your assignments. I have been informed by the school board that the Adobe apps subscription will only be available to students until the end of the month of May. With this in mind, organize and manage your time wisely.

And so ... stay in touch using your school board email available through Office 365, consult this webpage and the course's MS OneNote Binder regularly and please contact me should you have any questions.
