    Envirothon 2012

    Congratulations to our two Envirothon teams who competed in Larose Forest this month. They were tested in the fields of Aquatics, Soils, Forestry, Wildlife and had to do a presentation on Non Point-Source Pollution.     Send in Your Milk Bags

    St. Thomas Aquinas students continue to collect the outer milk bags in order to make mats for Haiti. The environmental science students have been cutting, tying and learning to crochet milk bags - saving these from the garbage, and turning them into a very useful object. The bags are used to pack fragile equipment on the way to Haiti, and then used as sleeping mats by the people in Haiti.

  • Living Locally Fair 2012

    The Living Locally Fair 2012 was a huge success. This is a partnership between the Russell and District Horticultural Society and St. Thomas Aquinas CHS. With a host of almost 90 vendors, the fair attracted a record 1425 adults during the show hours of 9:30 to 3 pm.     On Thursday October 27, six members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Environmental team travelled to Findley Creek which is one of the headwaters of the Castor River that runs through Russell.
