On Thursday October 27, six members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Environmental team travelled to Findley Creek which is one of the headwaters of the Castor River that runs through Russell.   It is amazing to realize just how big of an area makes up the Castor River watershed.  This creek drains from the Leitrim Wetlands which is next to a growing subdivision just off Bank Street.  Students met with Robin Crossley from South Nation Conservation and together, managed to gather two pickup truckloads of garbage from the area around Findley Creek.  Local residents appreciated the initiative from students, some even taking the time to stop and applaud the effort.  Well done, team!
