2018-2019 EOSSAA CHAMPS!!

Yesterday was a great day for our junior boys basketball team. They had a perfect season going into EOSSAA, having won all 9 of their previous contests. Yesterday was no different. They stormed through Almonte in their first game 63-38. Kallum Birch and Matt Pietrkiewicz combined for 34 points and 23 rebounds. In our second game, our Ravens defeated St. Lawrence from Cornwall 67-25. We had 4 players step up and score in double digits - Kallum Birch had 19, Callum Tait had 14, and Kai Daniell and Aidan Nyentap each had 12. In the championship final against La Citadelle from Cornwall, the boys fought a gritty, hard fouling team. Citadelle made it really difficult for us to score, and they came at us with intensity and speed. We were able to hold them off for a 49-33 victory, and the EOSSAA title for 2018-2019! Every single player played a contributing role in the last game, and we were incredibly impressed with the hard work and desire to win that pushed the boys to achieve an impressive victory. Dylan Clune and Matt Pietrkiewicz in particular were a major factor in setting the tone and intensity of the final and lead us to the victory. It was an outstanding, memorable season for us, and we were honoured to be able to share it on home court. Over the course of the day, we were quite clearly the best team of all the rest. I'm incredibly proud of this group. Congratulations, guys!!

PRSSAA Champions!!

We came out flat, and Casselman ran up the score at one point 32-10. It looked bleak. But the boys fought back really hard and rallying behind Matt Pietrkiewicz's 24 points and Kallum Birch's 15 points, our Ravens stormed back for the win, 64-59. Phenomenal, hard fought battle, boys! EOSSAA is next Tuesday, February 26th. First game will be at 8:30. We're 9-0 on the season, so let's keep this going. Let's go!!!!

End of the Regular Season Update

Big win at St. Joe's on Friday with our Ravens coming out on top 80-71. Kallum Birch was player of the game posting a double double once again.

The regular season is now over and our Ravens are up on top. Undefeated in 7 games, and ready to go for playoffs!

Our semi-final game will be against Le Relais. Game time: Wednesday, February 13th at noon at STA.

Exhibition Game - Feb 8th

Great news! We have secured an exhibition game to prep us before the playoffs start. We will be playing St. Joe's in Cornwall on Feb 8th (time TBD). I am asking that we have parents help drive the students down to save us the cost of bussing to and from Cornwall. We will be splitting the cost for referees, but that should be minmal (under $10/student).

Thursday, December 20th, 2018.

We remain undefeated heading into the Christmas break! We have one more regular season game on January 9th before playoffs begin. We will be playing St.FX at home, so we need a raucus crowd to cheer us on. Season stats are updated below. Kallum Birch leads the team in both ppg and rpg, Matt Pietrkiewicz leads in blocks and steals pg, and Dylan Clune leads the team in apg. Great numbers across the board so far, boys! Let's keep rolling!!

Wednesday, December 5th.

Congrats to our team who took a thriller against Casselman into OT, and eventually pulled away with a 61-59 win. Casselman had great ball movement, lots of speed, and great shooters, but they couldn't match our height and strong defensive play. Kallum Birch had a monster game with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Great win, boys!

Wednesday, November 28th.
Congrats on the first win of the season! The juniors came out strong and quickly built a 24-4 lead in the first en route to a 70-27 win over the RHS T-Wolves. Player of the game was Callum Tait with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. The win was truly a team effort with everyone contributing in all areas. Great work across the board.
